Astronomical heritage, both tangible and intangible, stands as testimony to humankind's efforts through the ages to comprehend the cosmos. This portal serves UNESCO's Astronomy and World Heritage Initiative, which leads global efforts to identify, maintain, and preserve this heritage. It is maintained through the efforts of a small project team, working on behalf of UNESCO and the IAU. Contributions from individuals, organisations and institutions are vital to us and are used to keep the web portal operational and to secure the further development of the Initiative.
